As the sun goes down, she appears. The campesinos who travel alone through dirt roads see her washing and crying. Passing clouds reveal her beauty beating clothes in the moonlight. She draws them near. She says she has lost her child and that she needs a ride. As they head towards town, the truck fills with an obscene stench of hog feces and rotting flesh. His deceived eyes realize, it is the Siguanaba! IMAGINATIONEXPLOSION presents a LACAP Theater Department production, The Legend of the Siguanaba, a Central American folktale that warns against the dangers of staying out after nightfall. This marionette show appropriate for all ages recounts the mythology of a cursed woman, her abandoned son, and their victims of circumstance.
